This policy is created to help you better understand what happens with the data that we collect from you and to demonstrate our commitment to the privacy of the users of our website. To ensure transparency and security, our privacy statement will inform you about the nature, scope, and purpose of the personal data processed by us. This Privacy Policy covers the information we collect about you when you use our products or services, or otherwise interact with us (for example, by attending our online events), unless a different policy is displayed. B-lay, we and us refers to B-lay BV, B-lay Inc. and any of our corporate affiliates. Our range of products includes software audit services, online educational webinars, Zyncc, software compliance services, compliance health check. We refer to these products, together with our other services and websites as "Services" in this policy

We also use this privacy policy to explain how you can choose the way we use information about you. We offer you the possibility to access and update certain information about you and to object to certain uses of your information. It is important for you to know that if you don`t agree with this policy, you will not be able to access or use any of our Services. 

We collect all the information you provide us with when you use our Services, create profiles and accounts on our websites, forms completion, content you provide through our products or websites, payment information. We automatically collect information when you use the Services, including browsing our websites and taking certain actions within the Services, and when other sources provide it to us. We want to ensure you that we have implemented all relevant legislation and regulations related to the protection of personal data as defined in the EU Data Protection Directive 95/46/EC (DPD) and the General Data Protection Regulation 2016/679 of 27 April 2016.

Purposes of the Data Processing

B-lay collects and processes your personal data in order to:

  • Provide you with the services that you seek from our websites;
  • Improve our websites and services;
  • Ensure the security of our website;
  • Better market relevant content generally, using anonymous or pseudonymized personal data;
  • And, if you have additionally consented to it, market to you specifically, such as through email remarketing and web retargeting.

Beyond these purposes, we process your data only if you have granted express consent for its stated purposes and with agreed means such as systems, processes and materials.

We will process personal data only in so far this is required to properly execute the tasks and duties agreed between parties and only with our employees, in an automated environment.

Categories of Personal Data

Personal data means any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person. Our websites collect, process, or uses the following personal data, if you provide it to us:

  • name, email, phone, address, job title, company, B-lay products in use
  • other data that you have provided while contacting us, especially using the contact, download, or signup forms on our website
  • data that you have sent to us through an online survey

To improve our websites and services, we also collect information about you such as the internet browsers you use or the site from which you linked to our websites. You cannot be identified from this information and it is only used to assist us in providing an effective service on their websites. They may from time to time supply the owners or operators of third party sites from which it is possible to link to their websites with information relating to the number of users linking to B-lay websites from their sites. You cannot be identified from this information.

Log files/IP addresses

When you visit our websites, they automatically log your IP address (the unique address which identifies your computer on the internet) which is automatically recognized by our web server.  We use IP addresses to help administer our websites and to collect broad demographic information for aggregate use. How much of this information we collect depends on the type and settings of the device you use to access the Services. Server and data center Service administrators can disable collection of this information via the administrator settings or prevent this information from being shared with us by blocking transmission at the local network level. 

Use of Cookies

Cookies are small files that a website transfers to your hard drive to store and sometimes track information about you. Most web browsers automatically accept cookies, but if you prefer, you can change your browser option to prevent that.  If you do not accept cookies, however, you may not be able to use all aspects of our Services. Cookies are specific to the server that created them and cannot be accessed by other servers, which means they cannot be used to track your movements around the web.  Although they do identify a user’s computer, cookies do not personally identify customers, passwords or credit card information.

B-lay uses cookies for the following reasons:

  • To identify who you are and to access your account information;
  • To help us analyze demographics with Google Analytics cookies
  • To estimate our audience size and patterns;
  • To share information using a social media sharing button on our websites or engage with our content on or through a social media site. This information may be linked to targeting/advertising activities;
  • To ensure that you are not asked to register twice;
  • To control how often visitors see similar ads;
  • To track preferences and to improve and update our Web Site; and
  • To track the progress and number of entries in some of our promotions and contests.

How long we keep information?

Account information: We keep this information for as long as you have an active account on our websites and a period of three months thereafter in case you would want to re-activate the Services. After such period of time, we will delete it from our systems.

Marketing information: If you chose to receive e-mail from us, we keep information about you for a reasonable period of time from the date you last expressed interest in our Services.

How do we treat e-mails you send us?

The contact section of our webpages gives you the possibility to send your comments to a specific functional mailbox.

If and when you send us a message, your personal data is collected only to the extent necessary to reply. If the team managing the mailbox is unable to answer your question, it will forward your e-mail to another service. Your information will be processed in an automated environment by our employees, we will not independently process personal data unless agreed in writing separately.

At your request, our Data Protection Officer will provide you with information as to whether and what personal data we store in relation to you. Should your personal data be incorrect, you may have it rectified. You may also revoke your consent to use your personal data in the future, in whole or in parts, or request deletion of your personal data.


You warrant that the content, usage and the order to process personal data you provide us with is in accordance with the law and will not harm any third-party rights including those of a data subject. You will be responsible to indemnify us against all titles and claims related to these rights of either a third-party or a data subject.

With whom is the information shared?

We will not share, sell or rent your personal information to third parties.  However, we may disclose your personal information to third party suppliers who provide services on our behalf. B-lay may disclose aggregate statistics about our sales, the websites visitors and customers of our telephone services in order to describe B-lay services to prospective partners, advertisers and other reputable third parties and for other lawful purposes, but these statistics will not include personally identifying information. We may disclose personal information if required to do so by law or if it is believed that such action is necessary to protect and defend the rights, property or personal safety of B-lay and our websites, visitors to the websites and customers of our Services.

The websites can contain links to the sites of third parties. When you visit these sites, we suggest that you read their privacy policies. We are not responsible for the privacy policies or the content of such sites.

We will only sell or rent your personal information to a third party either as part of a sale of the assets of a B-lay company or having ensured that steps have been taken to ensure that your privacy rights continue to be protected.

In case of Data Breach

We will report any unlawful data breach of this website’s database or the database(s) of any of our third-party data processors to any and all relevant persons and authorities within 72 hours of the breach if it is apparent that personal data stored in an identifiable manner has been stolen.

You will decide whether or not to inform the data subject involved. You are and continue to be the party responsible for any possible obligation by law to provide such information to the data subject or the relevant authorities. Communication regarding a security breach, data loss or unlawful processing will not occur until consultation with and prior implicit approval from you. 

In case we establish a security breach, data loss or unlawful processing has occurred, we will inform all end-users of the Web application by means of a general bulletin and a further message on the log-in screen end-users normally get to see. The content of such information will be agreed between us and you. 


We will implement all appropriate technical and organizational measures to secure personal data against loss or against any form of unlawful processing. These measures guarantee, considering the state of the technology and the cost of implementation, an appropriate level of security against the risks associated with the processing and the nature of the data to be protected. These measures are also aimed at preventing unnecessary collection and further processing of personal data.
